It’s rare to encounter random acts of kindness, much less freebies – so an encounter of such a sign, on my way to school, kindled my grey and very rainy morning. Truthfully, I had no use for firewood, or pallets (in fact I don’t even know what they are used for or even if they are of any real value) but I absolutely admire the hidden kindness of the hand-out.
And, before I become much too sentimental and banal, we need to remember that the little things do make a big difference. And as Mother Teresa said: “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
Kindess should be the new trend.
